Brief Description:  Flight #23, Flt Test #9, Longitudinal Stab, 00:42

Flight #23 was to test for static and dynamic longitudinal stability.

At 3000rpm, 105mph IAS (115mph TAS), DA 6050', from a level trimmed condition, N531X required continued back stick pressure to maintain a pitch up attitude and therefore has positive static stability in that direction. Pushing the stick forward, the nose stayed in the down position when the stick was released and therefore has neutral static stability in that direction.

For both short and long period dynamic longitudinal stability checks, N531X showed positive dynamic longitudinal stability.

Flight was logged with CloudAhoy on an iPad Mini (3G/4G capability) with its internal GPS. CloudAhoy rated the gps quality as "good". Usually get an "excellent" quality with the iPad/Dual GPS logs.
